nothing will make an insomniac sleep like the sound of an alarm clock

In the spirit of my recurring insomnia, a few sleep related facts for today:

  • After five nights of partial sleep deprivation, three alcoholic drinks will have the same effect on your body as six would if you’ve had enough sleep
  • People are the only animals on earth to willingly delay sleep
  • You could die from sleep deprivation (10 days) before starving to death (2 weeks)
  • The bed is the most used piece of furniture in the home
