Despite the fact that this series was broadcast on the internet rather than on TV, it was named the 4th best TV show in 2008 by Time magazine (behind the Presidential Election at #3, Mad Men at #2 and The Shield at #1).
The “set” was actually a house previously made over to look like a mad scientist’s lair by TV home makeover show Monster House.
When Dr Horrible steals the van, the “remote control” he uses is actually an iPhone.
The entire thing was filmed in 6 days.
The series spawned thousands of application videos for the Evil League of Evil from it’s loyal viewers.
"Freeze ray. Tell your friends." - Dr Horrible
“In honour of the death of Bohemia, an impromptu salon will commence immediately following dinner.”
The original Broadway production of Rent opened in April 1996 and in that same year won Tony Awards for Best Musical, Book & Score as well as the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The show ran for 5,123 performances.

Oscar Winner Skinny Girl
Jennifer Hudson is on the cover of this month’s Self and inside she says, “I didn’t even know I was considered plus-sized until I came to Hollywood … I thought I was the perfect size!” Good thing the stars were able to set her straight!
She explains that she had an epiphany when an (incredibly rude) interviewer asked her what it was like to be plus-sized in Hollywood. Hudson says, “I looked around, like, Who is she talking to? Oh, me? I’m plus-sized? In the neighborhood I’m from in Chicago, a 16 is normal. But in Hollywood, everyone looks exactly the same, so I stood out.” She adds, “I’m prouder of my weight loss than my Oscar!”
Well obviously. Who cares about winning a prestigious award that some actors spend their entire careers working to achieve if you’re not skinny?
Gizmodo.com sets photo challenges for their readers and this is one that I absolutely adore. They asked people to recreate photos from their childhoods. It’s such a simple concept but it’s something that has so much potential.
The photo below (the recent shot on the right, the original was shot by her father) is by a guy called Seth Porter of his fiancé and it’s so incredibly beautiful.
Christoph Gotting has won the Balvenie Master of Craft award for 2011. He makes handmade violins (most modern violins are machine-made), works with 1 assistant and only creates up to 10 instruments a year. Each violin takes about 140 hours to produce.
