“Private Moon”

Private Moon is an urban fairytale told through a series of photographs created by artist Leonid Tishkov and photographer Boris Bendikov. They tell the story of a man who sees the moon fall from the sky and then travels with her around the world.

You can see more photos and read the background behind the work at Leonid Tishkov’s website.

night shoot

So…I went out on a night shoot with a local musician the other night and this is one of my test shots to see what the slow shutter speed made of the lights.

“And all the people of the lulled and dumbfound town are sleeping now…”

“You can hear the dew falling and the hushed town breathing.”

“Only your eyes are unclosed to see the folded town, fast and slow, asleep.”

This is an advert from Volkswagen which features Richard Burton reading from Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood.

That’s Richard Burton (the once highest paid actor in Hollywood and recipient of many, many awards), Dylan Thomas (the world-renowned Welsh playwright), Under Milk Wood (a beautifully, hauntingly written “play for voices” about the secret dreams of the varied inhabitants of a tiny Welsh village) and only 2 shots of the outside of the car they’re advertising.

“The Addiction” – Abel Ferrara

“We drink to escape the fact that we’re alcoholics. Existence is the search for release from our habit, and our habit is the only release we can find.”

Lili Taylor in Abel Ferrara's "The Addiction"

long lost nights

Today I realised what I’ve been missing.

You know those long, exciting nights filled with adventure that push you through til dawn like a firm but seductive hand at your back, until it finally gets to a point when you just have to gather up what remains of your cellophane dress and head home…
